Salam Aidilfitri

I have been fooling around since I resigned from the company. *Le sigh* 

For the past two years, I had not been being myself. I didn't know why I was like that. Maybe I forgot that the world didn't revolve around me. Maybe I got carried away with amusement. Or maybe because I did not fill myself with something good, something useful.

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, serves me right. ;)

I know I have been a sinner. I made mistakes (a lot of mistakes); I have learnt my lesson and I just hope that I will not forget it. Forgive me for what I had done. *inhale exhale*

Last but not least, I dedicate this song to all of you. Selamat hari raya and maaf zahir batin.

 

Aidilfitri In Sydney

"Tsk... I cringe every time I combine those two words; aidilfitri (or raya) and Sydney.
We celebrated 1 Syawal on 30 August 2011. The day before, I prepared the usual raya dish - nasi impit, lodeh, daging masak kicap and serunding kelapa. Told my daughter that we would be celebrating hari raya the next day. She was so excited to celebrate something 'Malaysian', without knowing what it really meant and didn't want to come to school the next day to celebrate hari raya AT THE PARK! (ko tak sedih dengarkan?) -_-"

Itu cerita tahun lepas. (Yes, this entry had been placed in the draft since last year; 15 September 2011 to be exact).

Tahun ni, mungkin berbeza sedikit sebab hari raya mungkin jatuh pada hari Ahad. Mungkin. Itu pun tak tahulah mana arah tuju pagi raya tu. Dah la baju raya budak-budak ni (sengaja) tertinggal di Malaysia.

Makan je lah kat rumah... (kot?) -___-

Raya 3

Actually, on hari raya ketiga ni ada multiple open house invitations di kampung. Tapi, terpaksa kubatalkan jua kehadiran kami sekeluarga kerana mahu pulang ke Kuala Lumpur ibukota cinta kerana anak perempuan sudah SIBUK mahu pulang ke rumah Taman ******* kerana mahu menonton filem animasi Disney kegemarannya. (Berapa banyak kerana daaa....)

Maka pada hari raya ketiga, kami sudah beraya di Low Yat.

Ini Sophia - semasa menunggu makanan sampai. Sophia telah makan dengan banyaknya - saya pun terkejut. Kenapa? Baru teringat nak makan ke lepas takde kawan? :P


Ini pula Fish and Chips hasil masakan yours truly. Ikan tu beli yang Pacific West punya.


Balik rumah, layan movie kanak-kanak lagi...

Raya 2

Masih lagi dalam mood tidak bercerita. Mari layan gambar lagi.

Ini anak perempuan dengan baju 'raya'nya. Tak mau pakai baju kurung pulak on the second day...



Anak saya ni sepanjang berada di kampung naik sheikh betul bila main. Tak ingat makan, tak ingat susu. Mandi ingat, sebab nak mandi beramai-ramai dengan makcik-makcik keciknya.

Pada sebelah malamnya, kami sekeluarga sudah beronggeng sampai tertonggeng. Memang acara ini merupakan klimaks sambutan Syawa| di rumah nenek saya.

Acara apa? Rumah terbuka (untuk sanak saudara sahaja). Acara selalunya dimulakan dengan majlis tahlil dan disudahi dengan karaoke makan-makan. Selalunya ada BBQ; tapi tahun ini, dek kerana ketiadaan dayang-dayang dari Indonesia, maka kami ringkaskan sedikit. (Eh, kata mood tak nak bercerita tadi????)

Gambar makan-makan tiada, tapi gambar sesi karaoke (setelah perut masing-masing tegang) ada lah.

Dalam gambar terdapat Bob Tutupo|i, Broery Marantika, Inul, Ahmad Jais, S Jibeng, Sa|oma dan ramai lagi (semuanya bukan nama sebenar). Ya,... sudah menjadi seperti pesta dangdut malam itu. Sudahlah dress code (yang hanya diikuti oleh beberapa orang) pun 'Batik Indonesia'. :P



Jambul tebal dalam gambar di bawah adalah bagi mengekalkan anonymity. Tapi, walaupun anonymous, ITU BUKAN saya. Harus diberitahu di sini (walaupun dalam gambar adalah seorang lelaki :P) kerana saya tak larat nak menjawab soalan-soalan yang *tarik nafas, hembus nafas* tak-tahu-macamana-nak-gambarkan.



Ko nak nyanyi apa, nak? Setahu Mama, takde lagu Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star dalam senarai lagu diorang...



Sesi karaoke berakhir pada pukul berapa pun tidak saya ketahui kerana saya sudah lelap hanya setelah beberapa lagu disumbangkan.

Satu Hari Di Hari Raya

Alhamdulillah. Dapat juga kami meraikan 1 Syawal pada tahun ini. Baru hari ini saya berkesempatan untuk meninjau-ninjau Blogosphere (tapi rasa tak sanggup nak menjenguk sayur-sayuran yang dah mati di Farmville :P).

Seperti Jua (wah, sempat lagi nak bagi link bagai...), tiada perkhidmatan jalur lebar yang berjaya menembusi sekurang-kurangnya halaman rumah nenek saya (dalam kes saya, bukan kebun getah, tapi kebun kelapa sawit).

Okaylah, kepala pun masih berkarat - tak tau nak cerita apa lagi. Kita layan gambar-gambar 1 Syawa| dulu.

This was at the 3rd house on the 1st day - Sofea tengah jadi 'hantu kacang' :P. The one in green was her little cousin. Selalu sangat bercakaran (literally, ya?) budak berdua nih.




At the same house, the kids were having fun watching some flash movie in the computer. (Patut la senyap kejap) :P




On the 2nd day, (maybe) at the 3rd house. The one who was sitting beside her was her big cousin - teman seperjuangan mandi laut. ;) Can you imagine, she played "throw rocks into the pool"??? Matik pulak ikang-ikang dalang kolang tu kang. Muahahahahahahahaha :P




At the last house on the 2nd day - tak larat dah Dik Nons...

6th Of Syawal (In The Office)

No Raya updates (yet) but rather my office updates.

I had made plans for my work down to hour level. Itu ini, begitu begini; at last I was stuck in the boss' room for hours (!!) until I was left behind by my colleagues for lunch!!! Mak hangin tahap 'wali songo' dah ni. :P

4th Of Syawal

It's kinda belated entry.

We celebrated the 4th day of Syawal at Pavilion. Well, actually we were celebrating Hubby's belated birthday which was on this day. Earlier, I wanted to go to KLCC because I was craving for Chilli's food (whose birthday that I was talking about just now?) but Hubby resisted (okay, now we're back to the topic) :P.

At Pavilion, we didn't know where to eat - we wanted to try Al-Amar but,... the restaurant was for very quiet and very fine dining (or so we thought). Knowing our daughter's unpredictable behavior, we dared not to give a try. And we opted for Toni Roma's instead (again!). It's like pay back time, huh? And I ordered the ribs (again).

Before going home, we entered Parkson and I settled with my beauty range from Jurlique. OMG, the SA was like keeping on persuading or rather pestering me to get one thing after another! She seemed like wanting me to buy EVERYTHING on the counter, seriously! But I had a strong faith at that time, Alhamdulillah. Hehe, if not... boleh habis 4 digits jugak kat situ nanti. :P. I only settled with cleansing lotion and moisturizer which were indeed in my need list. With the purchase, I received an amount of voucher from Parkson. And we spent the RM for Sofea's toy.

Now, here's the story of Sofea at the Toy's Storey. This little girl (I tell you) showed her hysterical tantrum in the public! I was like, WHY BABY, WHY??? I was in disbelief just now. You see, when we went out alone, she behaved very well. I don't know if just now, when her father was around, she wanted to gain some extra attention from him or maybe she wanted to show him that she was a big girl already, that she knew what she wanted (she was crying over some Barbie toy). Or,... maybe something else which I couldn't write in here (you see, children were not always to be blamed) ;).

Anyways, we bought Dora Mega Bloks for her - we let her choose between the blocks and a Barbie bag. She chose the blocks. Back at home, we anak-beranak berebut-rebut to play and to build! Mega Bloks is so cool! ;)

My, Oh My...

We were back from the kampung yesterday and I was having difficulty updating this blog - my brains kinda rusty (kata dok kat tepi pantai...). :P

Ermm, we started our journey to Terengganu on Tuesday (the last entry was automatically posted). We left the house at about 7 a.m and reach kampung around 5-6 hours later. <--Kinda boring, isn't it? Told ya, I was or rather am having difficulty.

Anyways, when we were at kampung already, I showed Sofea the sea (the house where we were staying was located by the beach) and told her that she could swim in it. She swam with her father and her bigger cousin with his father later. I tell you that was her first experience swimming in the sea ever! She went to the sea twice during our stay there - on the first day and the last day.

Well, I guess that's my current update. Till the next Raya update.

You Know What We Did Last Raya?

At this time (a day before Syawal), we were still in the hospital (we checked out later in the afternoon) - Sofea was admitted due to bronchitis last year. Read the full story here.

We celebrated last raya at my Granny's in Muar. Nothing unusual at that time except for Sofea had her first quite-deep wound on her left eyebrow. When we at the kampung, people didn't stop asking us what had happened to her eyebrow and we like had to repeat our default anwser, "Sofea terhantuk bucu meja" before they even finished their question! :P


But we got the impression that people perceived us as incapable of looking after our own daughter. Whatever!

Anyways, Raya in my kampung was not different from my Husband's kampung. The gathered family members would prepare food a day before Syawal and we would buka puasa with our Raya dish on the last day of Ramadan. The food of course were different. In my kampung, we don't eat pulut or any variations of it (including lomang, yo!).

Visiting relatives is a must for both kampungs. But Hubby was a little bit of culture shocked when we were only served kuih rayas during our visits. That's how we raya in my kampung, dear. On the other hand, I too was culture shocked in Hubby's kampung when we were served heavy food i.e ketupat, laksa, and such at EVERY house we visited! Man, it was a feast when raya in Hubby's kampung.

Well, that's the story of our previous Rayas. Till the next Raya! SHRA, MZB.

p/s: I knew most of us had gone to our kampungs but heck, I was itchy (damn itchy) to update my blog anyways.
